Sharon Bonewicz - - - aka Meow

Sharon Bonewicz currently holds the rank of brown belt under Jared Weiner, Lloyd Irvin and Leo Dalla. She trains full time at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu United where she also teaches adults and children and women. Sharon also teaches at Philly MMA in South Philadelphia. Sharon travels to Brazil every year to train and compete and work on the Rocinha Project.

Through her photography, Sharon created the Rocinha Project to promote jiu-jitsu to the children in the Rocinha favela. This also led her to assist with the Moldova Project which promoted bjj to the women and children of Moldova. This program was founded and run by Bobby McMasters who is currently stationed there for the Peace Corps.

Sharon is also a board member of the Philadelphia Center for the Photographic Image. The PCPI is a non-profit membership based organization whose mission is dedicated to furthering the knowledge, appreciation and understanding of the photographic arts by offering education, exhibitions and a facility.
